Harvest time in a small veggie patch

I have always thought of my veggie garden as a fresh eating, salad kind of garden. Walk out, see what’s ready to be picked, then plan a meal. The idea of harvesting and preserving is new to me. Partially because of space limitations, I do not plant enough produce to have left overs to preserve. Today we had a meal of fresh tomato sauce on pasta and broccoli. Gardening can really save on grocery bills!
