Is it every gardener’s dream to move to a place with a longer growing season?

We did just that in July 2011. We left the ice and snow of Minneapolis (and a lot of good gardening friends) to the long dreamed about rural area of Western Washington. We found a home where some gardeners once lived that also met other important criteria we were looking for.
